Market rumors claim SK Hynix has been supplying HBM3E to Nvidia at a low, fixed annual price, which has kept its quarterly profit growth relatively low compared to Samsung's strong general-purpose memory earnings. The rumors also suggest Nvidia delayed its Vera Rubin launch due to SK Hynix HBM4 defects, and that next year's HBM4 price hike for SK Hynix will be 50% compared to competitors' 80%+ increases, in exchange for SK Group securing priority Nvidia chip supply rights for its data center business. In July, SK Hynix stock plunged while SK and SK Eternix hit the daily upper limit, though fund managers note the pricing deal is not yet finalized and these remain unverified rumors.
