Seeing living cell state in real time in one thing but having the ability to perturb it and record the exact chemical compositions over time is next level. Assays which are sadly most of drug testing are very crude in comparison as they are just single snapshots that lose the temporal resolution. Being able to keep the cell alive and control pH, temperature, and precise micro liter levels of drug dosage is going to be a game changer for studying bio. Lots of other companies are doing high throughput screening but sacrifice signal to noise ratio for throughput leading to poor results. Biology is a measuring problem and similar to the principle of super position in quantum mechanics the biggest problem is that by measuring something you interfere with it. Thankfully, for bio the measurement problem is way more tractable. Looking forward to more details on the hardware and giving an ai agent access to it to iterate on a thousand experiments the way they do right now for ML research.
