There was a certain obsession with intelligence in the bay where everyone exalts people who are “cracked” that I always found a little cringe. But now I find it even more ironic considering that the AI is now more “cracked” than anyone was at typing instructions into a text editor which we convinced ourselves required a lot of intelligence. At the same time AI being completely mediocre at anything that requires nuance, critical thinking, and creativity has only strengthened my view that the real smart guys are the ones coming up with the new ideas.
