
SK Hynix is shifting its strategy to prioritize commodity DRAM over HBM4 production to capture higher operating margins, which are forecasted to reach up to 90% this year. The company has secured a three-year DDR5 supply agreement with Microsoft and is awaiting NVIDIA quality certification for its HBM4 chips. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics may gain market share if it successfully mass-produces HBM4 in the second half of the year.
