something i’ll never forget is my first day on the desk when a senior trader (and now friend) told me: “everyone is a different trader, u gotta find ur style and run with it” it’s clear that a combination of gen z retail entrants + ptsd has caused people to think the only way to make money in this environment is to flip things frequently i think that works if you have the ability to be locked in 24/7, which, for obvious reasons younger people are more able to do than older people id be doing the same thing probably if i was 21…but im not, and ive had a much better success rate in my career of finding medium-term narratives, building larger conviction trades on things i think are mispriced and holding onto them until it plays out having not traded for 2 years i did start to question whether a strategy like this would still work in today’s crypto market, but i do believe we’re at a unique moment where its end of bear/beginning of bull and precisely for the aforementioned trading mentality of most of the market i do believe there will be things that will be mispriced, stay that way for a long time and then move i took a bet on $PONS as one of them and it was one of those trades where literally no one in my trading circles owned it or liked the trade (and i wish they did coz i would have gone in with more size then). but low and behold the thesis has started to play out …ive held this for 38 days, got in at 6M mkt cap and averaged up when i had more conviction - everything transparently documented in @RektMkts taken smalls profits here but i still think this is the best way to play exposure to the robinhood ecosystem i also think there will be many more opportunities like this, for people like me, who want to find good conviction trades to back over multiple weeks and not have to worry about being at the desk 24/7 my main point in all of this tho, is, there are many ways to make money, find what ur good at and do as much of it as u can, rather than chase what ur not good at. can be difficult when u see people make big overnight gains at the casino, but this is precisely how you train your discipline. good luck and check out @RektMkts
