My parents are the biggest leftists you can imagine. They voted Socialist and then far-left in every election for decades. Growing up, they always told us that paying taxes was a privilege because it meant you were making good money. Then we made a donation to them. Their first question: “Wait… do we really have to pay taxes on this?” I’m not even joking 😭
