A critical bug in the Zcash (ZEC) Orchard shielded pool has created a solvency risk where fake claims could potentially dilute honest holders, similar to a bank run scenario. While the exploit does not allow for infinite minting of ZEC across the entire network, it poses a direct risk to assets held within the Orchard pool. Users are advised to proactively unshield their ZEC and avoid re-shielding until a new, clean pool is established.
